Badminton

Badminton

A sport played by opposing players (singles or doubles) on a rectangle court divided by a net, players score points by striking the shuttlecock with their rackets across the net and land inside the opponents' court. The shuttlecock is light and affected by the wind, most badminton matches are played indoors but it can also be played outdoors as a casual activity.

Since 1992 badminton has been a popular sport around the world, mostly played with families and friends. Badminton has been an Olympic sport which requires players with aerobic stamina, agility, strength, speed and precision.

The Let Rule

When a let is called, the rally is paused and replayed with no change to the scores. A let may occur because of unexpected disturbance such as the shuttlecock touching an overhead rail or when the receiver is not ready when the service is delivered. However, if the receiver tries to return the shuttlecock, he shall be judged to have been ready.
